Dropdown options do not obey field selections

I have a dropdown which the values are load based on the values from another field. However, the dropdown always shows all existing values, not respecting the selections made by the user. In the screenshot sent, only 3 items should be displayed since my selections return only 3 possible values for the field Journal.
