Combo chart - custom icon/image

It would be very useful to be able to select a custom icon or use a custom image for representing a data point on the combo chart.  at the moment the only option is a symbol or a font awesome icon.  I have some data points that the current selection of icons would not provide a clear unambiguous meaning to the end user.  even a 3 letter code would be useful.

  • Hi James,

Hope you are well? Thank you for raising this to my attention.

Please could you provide some business reasons for this and why this would assist the wider community?

Are you looking for the same/similar functionality that we have on the Vizlib Line Chart?

For the moment, the roadmap for all Library products has been defined for the year but if we come to re-evaluate this we will see how the community has reacted to this feature.

Please note your unique ticket reference (#34084) and URL https://community.vizlib.com/helpdesk/tickets/34084

  • Hi James,

We, unfortunately, won't be updating our Font Awesome pack any time soon (We are on version 4) due to the complexity it would be to update all of our extensions.

Though that isn't to say we cannot have this as a potential feature later on in the Combo Chart's life - to give it the same functionality as the Vizlib Line Chart.

Once validation has been confirmed I shall create an internal ticket (which again doesn't mean it will get completed immediately). The timeframe has yet to be considered and this still needs further validation from the community as well as internal communication as I mentioned; I hope you understand that?

Keep well for now and feel free to share this with the wider Vizlib/you company audience.

  • Hi there

Owing to a lack of customer validation and/or complexity, we’ve prioritised our delivery and decided not to develop this feature request. However, all feature requests are subject to a continuous review and if anything changes, we will reassess our decision.

    Kind regards

    Luke
