  • Hi TakedaSupport,

    Thank you for raising this.

Please could you elaborate on your Feature Request? I am wanting to see some description and how would expect the product to work.

Please note your unique ticket reference (#38463) and URL https://community.vizlib.com/helpdesk/tickets/38463

  • Hello,

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I am referring to the actions available under Vizlib Button. I would like to use the action "Export Object Data" and the item I would like to export is a vizlib container.
The container in this case has 1 Grid layout with 3 items displayed and I would like to export the full grid when I click in the Vizlib button.

Currently when I tried to do that It gives an error message "There is no data to export. Please make sure the data in your visualization is correct."

    Thanks,

  • Okay, I understand what you are trying to achieve.

The Vizlib Container Grid does not contain any data, therefore, when you go to export the data, nothing will be exported because of that reason.

The Container houses the master items - i.e. tables, bar charts, etc. So if you want to download data, you have to reference an object that contains data.

  • Hello,

Not sure I fully understood. The master items have inside the container have data. In my specific use case I have 3 master items in a grid container.

According to Vizlib support team this "is a limitation of the Vizlib Button as a container can have multiple tabs, so it is not clear from where the data should be exported. If you'd like this to be a feature I would recommend adding this as a feature request in our community here."

Let me know if you need additional details.

  • Hello Luke,

Let me know if it was clear or you need further details.
    Thanks

  • Nothing is needed from your side as of yet.

I am keeping track of the interaction that this feature request gets.

You could, for the sake of other people and the other members of Vizlib, explain the outcome of this feature.

I would assume something like this:

    - User determines Container Grid as a Master Item

    - User used export data action from Vizlib Button and selects the Vizlib Container as the master item to export the data from

    - User clicks on button

    - Vizlib downloads n+1 (where n is the number of master items within the container grid on the tab/page you are currently viewing) excel files

Could you let me know if this is the desired outcome?
