Limit number of rows in table based on flexible measures.

Currently, if you want to limit the amount of rows in a table it automatically takes the first measure of the table and it is impossible to modify that.

The thing is I am developing a specific sheet for Product Analysis, and with a Toggle and some variables, I want to display in the different charts either top 15 Products by Sales, Top 15 Products by Growth Rate, 15 Products with Worst Performance..

And I have to build complex expressions for dynamic dimensions to have that flexibily for the user to display only the top 15 of products that meet certain requirements.

That would be much easier if you could just switch which expression you want to use for limiting the amount of values. Like top 15 based on Units, or Top 15 based on Growth Rate, also Top and Bottom could have flexibility, so with variables and buttons the user can switch to different analysis with the same charts.

  • Hi Francisco,

Thank you very much for this Feature Request and the provided detail.
Our roadmap has been determined, with appropriate room for flexibility. I can see this value, but I need to consider this against other customer requests.

I will keep a close eye on this task and It would be great if you want to share this as more people who like this task results in a quicker turn around for it to be completed.

  • Hi Francisco,

To modify the sorting order of Top/Bottom whilst in Analysis mode, a feature request (FR) would need to be submitted since this task, to my understanding, is related to the inclusion of an expression field that would enable developers (such as yourself) to define the sorting column using an expression.
    i.e. if ( v_myVariable = 1, sum(measure1), if ( v_myVariable = 2, sum(measure2) ) )

Please confirm my understanding is correct before I create any tasks for our backlog.
