Vizlib Line Chart Properties - Dimensions and Measures

The Vizlib Line Chart supports either one dimension with multiple metrics or two dimensions with one metric. All settings related to the dimension are located in the Appearance section.

The Vizlib Line Chart supports up ten metrics if one dimension is selected, or only one metric if two dimensions are chosen.

  • Visibility Condition

Show/Hide the metrics based on a calculated condition. 

  • Axis Position

Choose the axis (left/right) against which the metric should be plotted. Using multiple axis allows visualising multiple metrics of different magnitude on the same line chart. 

  • Markers

Show/ hide markers to visualize the data points on the line chart. 

  • Representation

Select your symbol representation. Use symbol, icon or image. 

  • Symbol

Choose the representation symbol.

  • Icon

Choose the icon among over 700 different options. 

You can also use an icon - picker.

  • Image

Use either an online URL or upload your image using the native Qlik Sense content editor.

  • Symbol Size

Set the size for your representation markers (slider or by expression). 

  • Line Color

Choose the line chart color Static or by Segment. If no specific line chart color is chosen, the custom color palette is used. 

  • Line Style

Choose between solid, dashed or dotted line styles. 

  • Curve Style

The curve style determines how your line will look like. 


  • Line Representation

Choose between Area & Line representation.

  • Stack data

If the "Stack Data" option is enabled, the dimensions are "stacked" on top of each other:

If the "Stack Data" option is deactivated, the dimensions overlap each other: 

  • Line Opacity

Set the opacity of the line. This is especially useful when you are using markers and you wish to put the line in to the background. 

  • Area opacity

Same as with the Line Opacity, but applicable to the area of the line chart, if Area Chart is chosen as the presentation. 

  • Data Points Opacity

Set the opacity of the markers. 

  • Line Thickness

Set how thick the line appears.

  • Trend Lines

Show/ hide the trend line.

  • Representation type

Choose the representation type of your trend line.

  • Representation Line Style

Choose the style of your representation line.

  • Representation Line Opacity

Set the opacity of the representation line.

  • Representation Line Thickness

Set how thick the representation line appears.

  • Color Mode

Color of the representation lie displayed.

  • Regression Equation

Show/ hide the regression equation. Set the position, size and opacity of the shown equation. 

  • Show Values

Decide whether you wish to display the data values on the Line Chart. 

  • Value Position

Choose the Position of the displayed values. 

  • Value Color

Color of the values displayed.

  • Value Font Size

Font Size of the values displayed. 

  • Accumulate

This option determines whether the metric is accumulated over its x-Axis. This is particularly interesting if the x-axis is a time dimension, and you wish to display the aggregated totals over time.
