Vizlib Gantt Properties - Data Elements

The Vizlib Gantt supports from one to four dimensions. The data section permits you to add dimensions and define their settings. The first dimension is an Event, subsequent dimensions are Hierarchies.

Why not try our sample load script below:

 (today() - (rand()*200)) as Date,
  (today() - (rand()*200)) as StartDate,
  (today() - (rand()*200)) as EndDate,
 'Event ' & mod(TransID,26)+1 as Event,
 Pick(Ceil(3*Rand1),'A','B','C') as ParentGroup,
 Pick(Ceil(6*Rand1),'a','b','c','d','e','f') as Group,
 Pick(Ceil(3*Rand()),'X','Y','Z') as SubGroup;

 Rand() as Rand1,
 IterNo() as TransLineID,
 RecNo() as TransID
Autogenerate 4000
 While Rand()<=0.5 or IterNo()=1;

Note! No Metrics are required for Vizlib Gantt.

Dimension Settings

Include null values

Uncheck this box to have null values suppressed in the chart.

One of the Dimensions has to be defined as Event and up to three can be added as Hierarchies.

Events appear as bars or milestones in the timeline. Milestones and events are dynamic and change with your data.

Hierarchies help to organise the event bars on the timeline, up to 3 groups can be added.

For Events

Set the Start date field by using expression and define the type.
For End date- set the End date field using expression. For Duration, set the Duration field.

The event bars have a progress bar option that lets users calculate custom progress based on duration/completion spend/budget etc

The property panel also includes an option to show text outside of the event bars if it's required.

Note: This feature currently has a limitation, as label names displayed outside the event bars will only be partially visible. The full label name can be displayed by using tooltip and hovering the cursor over the label.

Adding Custom Objects

Right-click on gantt to add new custom objects without entering edit mode.

Milestones - Visibility

Customize the visibility of milestone labels using Custom Event Objects.

Group Header
Shows a header bar for groups, using the earliest event start date and latest event end date.

Group Header Color
Enable Auto mode or define a custom colour using the colour palette or standard expression.

Group Progress Bar
Calculates group progress bars from the progress bar values shown in each group.
