Vizlib Calendar Best Practice and Troubleshooting

When you're working with Vizlib Calendar it's important to be clear about what you can and can't do. We've collected together a list of items for best practice and known issues, and listed them in this article for you.

Best Practice

  • Let's introduce you - If you're new to Vizlib Calendar, or looking to find some information, the Introduction page has links to the product resources and knowledge base articles.
  • Setup - Vizlib Calendar has a Setup Guide to help you start building a calendar quickly. You can add expressions or edit data in the property panel once you have the basic version.
  • Set the date - Vizlib Calendar only uses date fields, but you can apply features to give your calendar a specific look and feel by linking dates to icons using Marker settings (we like the smiley icon), and create your own quick select function by adding a custom range.
  • Performance - Vizlib Calendar uses using the Qlik Sense hub engine, and each individual value will be processed separately. If you're building a "floating" calendar (with a range running to a large number of years) or working with complex expressions (Measure, Marker and Heatmap settings in the property panel Dimension section), this could affect the Qlik Sense engine processing time and performance may become slower. You can find more information in our article on Best Practice and Performance Optimization in Qlik Sense.
