Vizlib Bar Chart Guides - Setup Wizard

Vizlib Bar Chart has a Setup Wizard to help you create a visualization quickly and easily, guiding you through several stages where you can customize the bar chart settings (Figure 1).

Chart Reference


The first properties you'll be asked to define are the visualization and dimensions and measures which create the chart. Table 1 lists these details to help you decide which settings you want to use.

Manual 

Default chart settings. 1 or 2 dimensions.Up to 4 measures if 1 dimension is selected. Only 1 measure if 2 dimensions are selected.

Adding a Chart


The setup wizard is activated when you add a Vizlib Bar Chart object from the Custom Objects menu to a sheet (Figure 2). 

  • Click on Custom Objects in the far-left panel, to open the custom objects menu.
  • Select Vizlib Bar Chart.
  • Click and hold the cursor on Vizlib Bar Chart.
  • Drag and drop the cursor into the sheet. 
  • Drag the chart edge (highlighted in orange) to change the size.  
  • Click on Click to get started to open the wizard.

Visualization


When the setup Wizard opens, the first screen is where you choose your Visualization (Figure 3). 

  • Click one of the icons to choose the visualization type, then select the option you want if a choice is displayed. 
  • Click Next when you've completed your selection.

Dimension & Measure


The next screen you'll see is for Dimension & Measure (Figure 4). 

  • Select the dimension(s) and measure(s) you want by ticking the checkbox and using the + button. 
  • If you change your mind, you can de-select a measure or dimension by ticking the checkbox and using the - button. 
  • Click Next when you've completed your selection.

Display & Theme


The next screen allows you to set the Display & Theme for your bar chart (Figure 5). There's also a Preview which shows a final version of your chart with the settings you've currently applied. 

  • Click on one of the themes to apply it to the chart - you can choose between Default, Vizlib Classic and Qlik Sense
  • Tick Show Legend if you want to display a legend, then select a Legend Position by clicking on the chart map. 
  • Tick Show Grid if you want to display a grid. 
  • Tick Show Values if you want to display the value of each measure. 
  • Click Next when you've completed your selection.

Finishing Touches


The final screen in the setup wizard is for Finishing Touches (Figure 6). When the screen opens you'll see the default title for the chart, which is created from the dimensions and measures you have used. If you click the  button, the default text will clear.

  • Enter a Chart Title in the text box.
  • Enter a Chart Subtitle in the text box below the title if you need one. 
  • Click on Create to close the wizard and view your Vizlib Bar Chart Visualization.

Edit Setup Properties


Once you've finished setup, you can edit the Vizlib Bar Chart settings in the property panel. Dimensions and Measures can be changed in the Data section (Figure 6). You can find more information about Vizlib Bar Chart Properties in the Introduction here
